Fishtastic

Trying out a fish splatter painting techinique.

Another awesome multi-coloured pollution warrior fish.

Members of Bluff's Rock Solid youth group and Kid's Club braved the weather on Friday night to paint fabulous fish on about 20 drains around our fine town. This was an awesome start to pollution awareness as we got a close look at what was floating in the drains and will soon end up on our beaches and in the water; lots of bits of plastic, strange shiny stuff and heaps of cigarette butts.

On a slight tangent click http://www.stuff.co.nz/oddstuff/4246431/Wellington-birds-developing-nicotine-habit to see a picture of a birds nest found in Wellington that was completely lined with the filter tips of cigarette butts that didn't make it to the bin (or the drain).
