Well a picture would be worth a thousand words if I could work out how to make the new camera and old computer harmonise. Ah well...
Bluff Hill Motupohue Environment Trust Trustee Mitch Bartlett returned home this eve after a day of shining his bottom in the office. "It's a beautiful night and I've been inside shining my bottom all day" he declared (word for word). I duly suggested we take our dinner up to the top of Motupohue for a romantic picnic for 3 and watch the sun set over Fiordland.
We partially achieved that and began to descend the road, back to the shire, when alas an evil Vulpecula Vulgaris (possum, -just sounds nastier) attempted to cross the road in front of our powerful Holden Barina with the fluffy purple seat covers. We narrowly missed it before skidding off into the gravel whereupon the office worker quickly abandoned the car and commenced to chase the enemy up a very spindly pittosporum. "I've got it" yelled the office worker to the vegetarian, the 5 year old and the sheepdog below as he somehow disembarked the pittosporum holding the angry Vulpecula by the tail. The vegetarian handed him the car jack and he hit it, a lot. "We'll take it home and pluck it, his fur's worth $6.50" he said with a wild office glint in his eye. "Don't get any bodily fluids on my seat covers" said the vegetarian. So we drove home through town with the feral office worker holding the possum out the window.
Mitch plucked the possum at home and then ate it's heart (no not really). Fur prices are very good at the moment and even better is the dedication of the trustees of Bluff Hill Motupohue Environment Trust.
